"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

Ok first off, your list of training etc, sounds very good indeed, unfortunately for us at #AREA01 none of that means anything if the quality of work, does not meet our standards
You appear to me to be more about code than design, area 01 is strictly for over the top, in your face, design of mixed levels, eg: web / gaming clan / fantasy interface etc ... and sorry but none of your work fits into any of those
Where your work would fit in with us, would be Application Interface, but again the level of detail used in your designs simply isn't something we would place into our gallery, or to share with others.
None of the above is about us being rude or egotistical etc, it's about us at Area01 prolonging our standards and beliefs
by all means, prove me wrong, design me something new, make it crazy with detail and depth etc, something to excite me
.. do that, then note us again, and I'll happily see if I'm wrong about your skill level, but for now I must say no to your membership
I appreciate it... After hearing you describe Area51, especially the part about coding and maybe usability to a point, I think that you are correct and that the stuff I am working on does not fit. Not to mention that I am still just now starting to work on interface stuff vs. the 3d modeling and rendering that I started out doing... Anyway, thanks... MBGD
Most welcome, I try to relay info to unsuccessful people, in such a way that they will understand it was not us being mean, cause people get pissed like crazy when told no
So instead, I take time to go over things, and then calmly explain things, as well as the good things they did right, but sometimes, the work we are offered is just well .. utter shit
